Hi,

My name is John Paul Harkin, and I am the founder of TheTreeShack. I'm currently a full-time Engineering student who has been growing this business since the start of 2022. I love going to salvage yards and the one thing I noticed was there is an endless supply of reclaimed timber that is being wasted and it struck as a opportunity to turn these unwanted planks into bespoke furniture full of character and class.

I first started selling my frames on my Esty page and after a few months I saw there was a large demand for furniture (especially picture frames) made from reclaimed timber. I have always been interested in carpentry since I was a kid and was loved working with wood and making things by hand.

The main goal is to make the frames from beautiful, reclaimed timber and make them affordable to everyone. Thankfully, there is an endless supply of reclaimed timber that is waiting to be transformed into one of a kind works of art.
